As we lit the first Advent Candle Mary, Joseph and the donkey (kindly knitted for us by the Day Centre members) started their journey across the parish and beyond as members of the congregation included them in their daily lives during Advent.
They arrived back at St Francis just in time for the Crib Service on Christmas Eve !

Good News Group youngsters narated the story of the birth of Jesus. As they did so, children from the congregation brought forward figures to make up the crib, with the animals in the stable, Mary and Joseph and Jesus, the shepards, the wise men, the star and lots of angels in order that each child could participate.
