St Bartholomew's Church, known as Bart's, is the official Parish Church of Horley. Dating back to the 14th century, the building is the oldest of the three Anglican churches in the Horley Team Ministry. We now serve the parish alongside our sister churches of St Francis and St Wilfrid. We have a thriving church family of all ages and we look forward to meeting you at any of our services.
Service Style
We are a lively, informal, evangelical Church whose worship is inspiring, joyful and uplifting, always giving glory to Jesus. Every Sunday there is a traditional Holy Communion service at 8am. Then at 10:30am a morning praise service with children's groups or activities provided. All Age Worship is held on a second Sunday and Holy Communion on the third.

Pastoral Care & Mission
As a church, we believe in the power of prayer and there is always someone to pray with you and for you in and after our services. We run an email prayer chain, where we circulate confidential prayer requests to a faithful team of prayers.
There also is the opportunity to join small groups or Bible study groups providing valuable support to our members in a more intimate setting.
Social Events
We see fellowship at Bart’s just as much a priority as our Sunday worship time. As well as sharing tea and coffee after each service, we hold bring and share lunches, family focussed garden parties, charity coffee mornings, quizzes, Harvest suppers and the Seder meal on Maundy Thursday. We also have a thriving Women's and Men's Ministry. For young families there is a weekly Tots and Toys drop in for parents, carers and their little ones on a Monday morning in term time. We have strong links with the community, hosting events including flower festivals, concerts and talks by the Horley History Society.
Our building
St Bart’s is a Grade 1 Listed Building. There has been established clergy for 800 years and people have been worshipping on the Church Road site for many years before then. In 2018 the Parish marked that 800th anniversary and 60 years since both St Francis and St Wilfrid's Churches opened. For a more detailed history of the Parish and of those churches click here.
Location
We are located on Church Road, just off the A23 Brighton Road, RH6 8AB, next to the popular pub Ye Olde Six Bells. On foot you can get to us from a footpath off Brighton Road or the path off Church Road. There are bus stops on Brighton Road and nearby Massetts Road. The church and the parish office are on the graveyard side of the church next to the A23. The main door is on the other side of the church by the Six Bells pub off Church Road. We are a 15-20 minute walk from Horley Railway Station.
Parking
Parking is very limited in Church Road, so, with the kind permission of the landlord of Ye Olde Six Bells, visitors may park in the rear-most car park to the right of the pub.

Gatwick Airport Community Trust
We would like to thank the Gatwick Airport Community Trust (GACT) for their support and funding in enabling St. Bart’s to have a complete tree survey of the new churchyard, which also included the trees within the little field adjacent to the church. This has helped us to identify any problems and work which will need doing to keep these trees safe.
Surrey County Council Donation
We are grateful to the Surrey County Council for providing a grant of £850, which enabled us to fell a Cypress Lawn, 10-14 meters tall with asymmetric canopy, which had a cavity with decay greater than 1/3 size of the branch stem diameter near the base, in the New Church yard. This was noted at the tree survey to be a risk to the public.
We had the work done on 6th and 7th February 2022 and are so thankful that it was completed before the three storms of Dudley, Eunice and Franklin, thus ensuring public safety.
